You can get this level of maintenance by voting for a special tax levy by the City of Calgary. This is done with a prescribed petition process that must be completed in three months, and must have the approval of two-thirds of the community. Volunteers will be needed to complete this process. As an alternative, fees can also be collected by the Homeowners association, but the restrictive covenant does not have the legal strength of an encumbrance that most communities with homeowners associations have on properties.
