Annual General Meeting

The 2012 AGM will be on March 6, 2013 at 7:30 at Royal Oak Victory Church (450 Royal Oak Hts NW, at Royal Oak Drive and Royal Elm Drive). This is a great opportunity to meet your volunteer board, and discuss what's been going on in the community and to offer your views.

Ravine news

Those of you that live along the ravine, specifically Royal Ridge Rise and Royal Ridge Mount will want to find out more about the planned development to the ravine. You may not be aware, but the portion of the ravine that is past where the paved pathway ends is privately owned and has had City approval for development since 2003. From what I understand, the owner of that property may be ready to begin development. You can view the proposal here.

Oil rig update

The folks over at the Rocky Ridge Royal Oak Community Association have done a great job of compiling the latest news on this. You can also become a member of RRROCA here.

Dogs and taggers reminder

If you see any grafitti, call 3-1-1 and they will come out and try to remove it, or contact us and we will try to remove it as well. You can also use 3-1-1 to report people with dogs on the loose, and folks who don't clean up after their dogs.

Development

The empty lot next to Royal Oak Victory Church is being developed, starting in the spring of 2013 and should take about a year to be completed. It is planned to be opening in the fall of 2014. Part of that will entail removal of the Large "Royal Oak Estates" sign at the corner of Royal Oak Drive and Rocky Ridge Road, and replacing it with a smaller sign. The developer will pay the costs associated with that. They have also agreed to play a part in getting another sign at the other side of Royal Oak Estates, at Royal Oak Drive on the large park/playground across from Royal Crest Way.

Your Board needs you, your expertise and your energy. You can be a decision maker in the way your community will look in the future. The good thing is it's volunteer AND unpaid, the best thing is you get to meet a lot of great people and learn stuff you didn't know you needed to know. Join in; it's a lot more rewarding and interesting than you can imagine!
