Looking Good
We've heard from the City and the news is good, the petition has passed. Thanks to all of those volunteers who sacrificed a large part of their summer last year to make it a reality. We'd also like to thank all those residents who voted for the Levy. Royal Oak Estates has turned the corner, no looking back now.
Landscaper Chosen
We have already chosen a landscaper, Foothills Landscaping. You'll be seeing their trucks in the community this month. Look forward to seeing them convert our community to a thing of beauty.
Loose dog!
All the parks in Royal Oak Estates are not off leash areas. Please respect the birds that nest in the tall grasses and keep your dog leashed and on the trails. We'll see more wildlife when the wild areas are kept as wild as possible. If you see someone with their dog off leash, let them know that it sends the wrong message to other dog owners (and is illegal, with a fine of $250.00), if you don't say something, no one will. If you're uncomfortable confronting people with dogs on the loose, please call 311.
Brick and Rail Fences
All the Brick and wrought iron fences (and the aluminum ones too) that are border a homeowners property are the responsibility of the homeowner to keep in good repair. There's a lot of them with flaking paint, rust and bottom borders pulling away from the wall. If you need advice on how to paint or repair them according to community standards, the Homeowners Association is glad to help, contact us at info@roeha.ca. If your neighbor has one of these fences in bad repair, let them know that this is not the City's or the Association's responsibility.
What Fountains?
If you're new to the community, you probably didn't know that the pond area used to have fountains. We've got them and we're working on getting a skilled contractor to get them up and running. Fingers crossed since they are eight years old.
Don't be bored, be on BOARD
Your Board needs you, your expertise and your energy. You can be a decision maker in the way your community will look in the future. The good thing is it's volunteer AND unpaid, the best thing is you get to meet a lot of great people and learn stuff you didn't know you needed to know. Join in, it's a lot more rewarding and interesting than you can imagine!
