Optional Amenities AgreementThe board has received the Optional Amenities Agreement (Royal Oak Consolidation Agreement) with signatures back from the City. This means the residents of Royal Oak Estates are now responsible for the amenities, if you're not sure what the amenities are, go to roeha.ca and click the map link on the homepage. Our final step to being in control of the amenities and the maintenance of the community will be to get City Council approval of our petition, this will hopefully happen this winter/spring. Proposed CasinoThere is an Open House for the Royal Vista Business Park being put on by the Rocky Ridge Royal Oak Community Association. It's on Friday November 26 between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. and Saturday November 27 9:00 a.m. to noon. It's at the North West Family Church – 10307 Eamon Road NW. If you have any concerns over the proposed casino in the area or need more information, contact the Rocky Ridge Royal Oak Community Association at info@rrroca.org. SidewalksPlease keep your sidewalks clear this winter, there are a lot of residents that use canes and walkers to get around. If the sidewalks aren't clear down to the cement, this can keep these residents in their homes until the snow melts. It is your responsibility, so please be a considerate neighbor and keep the sidewalks safe. If you have a neighbor that isn't taking care of their sidewalk, call 3-1-1 and the City will clear it for them (and bill them for the service). Beautify Royal Oak EstatesHelp keep Royal Oak Estates beautiful, It's easy! Call 311 if you see vandalism, illegal signage, loose dogs or graffiti. If your neighbor has weeds taller than your trees and junk all over, call 311, they will remind homeowners of their responsibility. Bring extra bags when you walk your dog, and please pick up an extra doggy-doo or two that careless dog owners have left behind. If you see vandalism or graffiti in progress call the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 Don't be bored, be on BOARDYour Board needs you, your expertise and your energy. The current board is almost a year old and could use new blood. The good thing is it's volunteer AND unpaid, the best thing is you get to meet a lot of great people and learn stuff you didn't know you needed to know. The interim board members have been working for over two years to make the Homeowner's Association a reality, and the volunteers put in four months this summer to make the petition happen. Join in, it's a lot more rewarding and interesting than you can imagine!
