What's up with that

Trees are going up along Royal Oak Drive to replace about 18 tree stumps in September. On that note We had planned to plant a row of trees along the bottom of the hill along Royal Elm Drive, but are unable to, because it is a utility right-of-way, so planting trees there would be a bad idea.

Natural Area

The City has deemed the large hill on Royal Oak Drive and Royal Elm Drive a natural area. They've removed most of the noxious weeds and will continue to do so for the next two years. We are planning on planting small "groves" of Willows and Aspens higher up on the hill in that area, but won't be doing it until spring to allow the trees to have the best chance at survival.

Flower pots

Did you see the large pots on Royal Oak Drive? They're just the start, there will be more to come next summer, but watch for the decorative winter plantings in the pots around November. Also watch for the new flower beds going in at the bottom of the big grassy hill on Royal Oak Drive, they're going to be gorgeous.

Drive Maintenance

The Boulevard has been mowed weekly since May. All the weeds are under control, and all the tree wells have been weeded and edged. In the spring, we will be adding mulch, so that may be the last time you see weeds in the tree wells.

Parks

You may have noticed Foothills Landscaping has been re-establishing and mulching all the beds in the parks and playgrounds. Next spring, they will be adding bushes and perennials in those beds. As well as that we will be replacing all the dead trees in the parks and re-establishing, and mulching their wells.

A new sign

We've asked the City for the opportunity to put a "Royal Oak Estates" sign at the top of Royal Oak Drive. Now we're going to go through the approvals process, keep your fingers crossed.

Don't be bored, be on BOARD

Your Board needs you, your expertise and your energy. You can be a decision maker in the way your community will look in the future. The good thing is it's volunteer AND unpaid, the best thing is you get to meet a lot of great people and learn stuff you didn't know you needed to know. Join in, it's a lot more rewarding and interesting than you can imagine!
